ADST: Game Based Learning Workshop
Play is Learning.
Bring game-based learning to your classroom. Create a technology-rich, inquiry-based, learning environment in which students collaborate to design and create their own interactive experiences.
In this full-day workshop led by UME Academy instructors, participants will learn:
- How to identify and use the phases of ADST to design and build interactive activities in the classroom using analog and digital tools.
- Play testing prototypes, gathering feedback and iterating on ideas.
- Digital literacy skills with content creation software, Unity game engine.
- How to map curricular objectives into fun, engaging activities using game design methodologies.
UME Academy has over 30 years of combined instructional experience having taught students from all walks of life and age groups. We believe that play is a powerful way to support student-centered learning and have been putting this belief into practice daily. We are a plug-n-play classroom which requires no infrastructure outlay from participants in our programs. We stage classes and training sessions in community centres and various public and private elementary schools across the lower mainland .
This event will be hosted at Atomic Cartoons animation studio!
